A more interesting point of the day is a festival i stumbles across in the august 10 addition of the asos magazine. its called Vintage at Goodwood: music and fashion ( here's the website http://www.vintageatgoodwood.com/ watch out though, my poor emachine laptop couldn't quite cope with the website and my arrow was having a bit of a fit, probably due to the fact that this is the most amazing festival i think i may have found!) its during the weekdays as well, perfect for me as i work at the weekends, however i doubt i can go this year without more notice as i think i would be going on my own, but me and Bron are going to head down next year and have a look. Lily Allen is meant to be releasing her line of vintage called Lucy in Disguise ( which also is being launched in London in her west end shop in august as well from what I've read!). It may be competing with Leeds though, however that entirely depends on the lineup, and id rather do something a bit different!
Hopefully going to do a shoot with my friend and photographer Hari Datta tomorrow but we'll see, we have failed to meet for the last 2 weeks!

ebay is taking over my life
Tomorrow I'm going to buy a silk shirt, although i was tempted by one in Tesco, although the material left a lot to be desired but it was £18 and everything i wanted but i thought i can get this silk shirt for less than a tenner including postage its gotta be a deal (this is how eBay gets me, starts low and i just cant stop bidding).
Just ran upstairs to try on the dress, its really odd, has a beautiful neckline but feels like a swimming costume! I'm currently in the market for a new camera, so bare with me with the shit photo (its off my poorpoorpoor phone).
It's quite long (although saying that, that means, the hem is closer to my knee than my bum) but i may just tack it a bit shorter so i can make it longer if needs be.
On a musical note....
today i got invited to a few events at Notts Trent union and got quite excited at the mystery jets playing on the 6Th November...so i leave a comment to my boyfriend about it only to be told that Ive ruined the surprise! i knew he had bought me something and id been racking my brain for what it might be and he'd known they were playing and got me tickets! cheeky bugger even told me he was looking for tickets for their Manchester show!
Ive been listening to their new album Serotonin non-stop and its classic mystery jets, find myself wanting to ooo-ooo along. has some classic lyrics to go along with that, cant wait to see them!
i also went to see toy story 3 today, which was possibly the most emotionally i have ever been attached to characters in a film! one child was wailing in the first 10 minutes! really good watch, and i think it is aimed at my generation who have been waiting to see the toy story 3 for over a decade! truly worth it! although the 3d again played havoc with my contacts!
there was a short animation before hand called Day & Night, which was a little gem. about acceptance, without being full on! Ive found on the pixar website a little story about it http://www.pixar.com/shorts/d&n/index.html and you can see the making of day & night on YouTube but i would recommend going to see toy story 3 just for the short at the start!
bit of history.
I'm currently 19, enjoying my summer between my art foundation and starting my degree. i studied my art and design foundation at Leicester college, and gained a distinction! (can you tell I'm excited?). in October i am starting at Nottingham Trent to do textile design which should be a good time, and some hard work, which I'm looking forward too!
thought id give you a look at my final major project which nearly broke me! but i am so happy with the final result.
i based it on Miss Havisham, from Great Expectations, and the disintegration of the house and her dress. i made some textiles pieces and from there i also did some oil paintings, which turned out a lot better than i expected as id never used oil paints before as i tend to keep to watercolours.
so here's some photos my dad took while the show was on and before we all got drunk on rocket fuel wine!
me and my display
my corsages, garter, ring bag and rings , handkerchief and necklace.
now hopefully i can keep up with this blog, please check out my other sites such as twitter.
